Tugu Pahlawan


Tugu Pahlawan is a monument that became landmarks of Surabaya. This monument is 41, 15 Meters tall phallus shaped or inverted spikes. Body monument shaped
arches (Canalures) 10 arches, and is divided into 11 segments. High, segments, and canalures meaning the 10th, 11th month, 1945.

A historic date, not only for the residents of the Surabaya city, but also for all Indonesian people. Tugu Pahlawan was built to commemorate the events of 10 November 1945, in the Battle of Surabaya, where the young lads Surabaya fought against the allied forces along with the Netherlands who want to re-colonize Indonesia.

Monument Tugu Pahlawan became the center of attention every 10 November in memory of the events in 1945 when many of the fallen heroes in the war of independence.

This monument is located in the middle of the city in Pahlawan Street Surabaya, and near the Governor's Office of East Java. Tugu Pahlawan is the icon of the city of Surabaya as City of Heroes. Standing on clearing 1,3 Hectares, and is administratively located in the Village Square Contong, District Bubutan, Surabaya, East Java.
